E-Log 3-4-2010
Thanks for visiting. Well, the sun is finally out today. It's supposed to get up to around 45 degrees.
Spring is very nearly here, and that means race season is just around the corner. April 3rd is the first practice, and
I'll be there if the weather lets us. I'm still in the process of finishing things up on the kart and the trailer.
The kart received a new sprocket, a newly painted steering wheel, a full inspection, a newly mounted tachometer, cleaned
and de-vinyled and is currently awaiting new vinyl. The trailer is finally organized and everything is either
hung up or stored in the new work table that is mounted in the front. This new work table should be perfect for
racing, as it's always a plus to be able to have somewhere to lay things out.
I'm planning on taping the go kart races as I go, but I'm not sure yet how well that will work out, so just stay tuned
on that.
Weekends that I'm off from go-karting, will be busy either taping races or cleaning and fixing the kart. I'm excited
for the new 2010 summer. My baby girl should be arriving in late June. I'm really glad there's no scheduled points
races in July, as I'll more than likely be busy with the baby, and have no time for racing.
Stay tuned, and thank you for visiting once again. Oh, I'm in the process of obtaining two sponsorships.
We'll see how it goes. -Colin

Well my vinyl came in today for the kart. It looks AWESOME, but it's raining outside so I'll have to wait to put
it on. I'll post pictures when it's completed. I had a successful night of filming sprint cars @ Twin Cities on
the 20th and encourage anyone who enjoys either that track, or sprint cars, to purchase the DVD. All my DVD's are worth
the 10 bucks, but this one had some terriffic racing, and a pretty wild ride. April 3rd is still the first practice
for karting. Until next time. I'm Colin. Thanks for visiting.
E-Log 4-6-10
Well for some reason practice this past Saturday was cancelled. I was really hoping to get out on the track...seeing
as I've never even seen the track yet. And for some other weird reason, instead of practice this Saturday, it's a non
points race. So I guess I'll just have to Nut Up or Shut Up and get out there. Weather should be good for Saturday...looking
forward to it. Until next time. -Colin

Got the first race in of the season this past Saturday. It was a lot of fun! Where I finished really wasn't
important to me, because I didn't get any practice, I treated this week as a practice. I'm pretty sure I ended up 8th
out of 10 karts though.
I think this season is going to be a good one. I seemed to get the hang of it after a few practice sessions.
It's amazing how much difference the smallest adjustment makes. It will be a learning experience the first few weeks
as the track and set-ups change. I'll get used to it though, and I think we'll be just fine. I had a few encounters
with other drivers, and was involved in more than one incident, but I didn't tear anything up. Next week is the first
POINTS race. Until then. -Colin

Well, the first points race is in the books. I ended up 5th in every race that I was in. I started 4th in
the feature and got shuffled all the way back to 7th at one point. And eventually made my way back up to 5th.
The one thing that hurt me all night was my starts. I'll have to work on gettin a good jump and driving it in deep to
stay with the pack in the first corner. Other than that, the kart ran well, and Im starting to find some good setups.
Next points race is May 1st, I am off this weekend. Until then. -Colin
